Take a Journey by Steam on the West Somerset Railway

On board a steam train on the West Somerset Railway

Promotional Feature: We travelled from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead as guests of the West Somerset Railway.

When I took my family to Taunton for a weekend, I looked around for other things to do while we were in the area.

I found plenty of options, and one thing I knew that we absolutely had to do was a trip on the West Somerset Railway.

The station at the Bishops Lydeard end of the line is only around 15 minutes drive from Taunton. And the round trip to Minehead on the Bristol Channel coast took us around 4 hours. So it was a perfect day trip as part of our long weekend.
