When we visited Taunton last month, I was keen to make sure that we made the most of our weekend in Somerset. And this week’s Sunday Photo was taken when we paid a visit to the West Somerset Railway.
I love steam trains, and there’s a real sense of nostalgia about travelling by steam. So when I found out that Somerset is the home of England’s longest heritage railway, well, that was definitely a must see!
We travelled the full length of the West Somerset Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead and then back again. This photo was taken during our short break at Minehead, before we took the return journey back to Bishops Lydeard.
The full journey took us just under four hours, and it was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend for me.
