Just in case Summer 2017 does ever get here, I’ve picked out some of my summer beauty must-haves for the season.

A good shower gel is pretty much a must-have all year around. I love the Original Source range because they all smell delicious – the Lemon one really wakes me up in the morning! This Lime & Coconut Milk moisturising shower gel has a really gorgeous summery smell, and leaves my skin feeling soft.
I’ve tried loads of different moisturisers, body creams, dry oil sprays…but I keep on coming back to good old Palmers Cocoa Butter. It’s rich, creamy and smells delicious, and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth. I go through loads of it, especially since I got the first of my three tattoos back in March. If you’re going to put art on your body, you want to keep your skin in tip top condition!
I’ve been trying out this Soft & Gentle deodorant over the last few weeks, and it’s pretty fab. It’s effective, does the job you want it to do, and the soft floral scent is really gorgeous. And it’s also aluminium-free, as well as having no alcohol, so it’s gentle on your skin.
A good SPF is really vital in the summer months. And in recent years I’ve switched from using creams to a spray on sun screen. This dry mist is really quick to apply, and doesn’t need masses of rubbing in. Perfect for when I’m trying to convince the boys that they need to put sunscreen on before heading down to the beach!
I usually use SPF30, but I also need a higher SPF to cover my tattoos in the sun. UV rays in sunlight act on the ink in your tattoo, making it fade quicker. And of course it ages and dries your skin, which isn’t ideal for a good-looking tattoo. So I use this Ambre Solaire SPF50 lotion to protect them. It’s water-resistant and non-sticky, and the travel size tube means I can easily keep it in my bag at all times.
These Revlon ColorBurst chubby lip crayons are ideal for the summer. They’re halfway between a balm and a lipstick, so they both soften your lips and add a splash of colour. And they don’t feel sticky or heavy, because who really wants to be wearing masses of make-up in the summer?
And this last pick might seem like a bit of a cliche. But water really is a summer beauty must-have, to help keep your body and skin hydrated. The boys are still loving our SodaStream, but I have to admit that I do fall back on bottled water as well. But whether you use tap, filtered or bottled water, leave it plain or add fruit for flavour, it’s really important to drink plenty of it.
