My little home office needs a bit of a makeover. Don’t get me wrong, I feel very lucky to have a home office at all. I find that having a dedicated space to go and work in makes working at home much more productive.
But it just feels like it needs a bit of a revamp, a few extra touches to finish it off. So I’ve decided that it’s going to get a spring overhaul. I’m looking for a rug or carpet to deaden the echoey sound in here, I’ve got my eye on a new armchair from Ikea, and I may even give the walls a lick of paint.
While I’m planning the big overhaul, I’m also on the look out for some little touches to finish off the makeover. And as a blogger, a little bit of word art on the walls seems very appropriate.
So when Signomatic asked if I’d like to try out their custom sign design service, I got an idea for a simple but effective addition to my office.
Signomatic offers an online design service, which is really simple to use. And their signs are available in a range of materials from wood and aluminium to acrylic and even vinyl. So it’s really easy to make a sign that’s perfect for your needs.
Everyone knows how much I love my coffee (a lot!), so I decided to create an acrylic sign that could go on my office wall.
The Signomatic design service couldn’t be easier to use. You simply choose the type of product you want to create, and set the size and colour of the sign.
Then you add text, choosing the size, colour and font. The design system allows you to easily move the text around, and you can use a mix of fonts if you wish. There are some sign example pages on the Signomatic website with examples of interior signs and more, if you’re in need of a little inspiration.
You can add images from the Signomatic library, or upload your own images. I searched on Depositphotos for a suitable image and uploaded it, and then finalised my design. If you want to fix your sign to the wall, you will need to choose from the methods offered.
My sign was provided to me free of charge, but it would normally have cost around £70. The price updates automatically as you make alterations to your design, so there’s no nasty shock when you go to check out!
I sent off my design to be made up, and waited for it to turn up. The delivery time varies depending on what kind of sign you are ordering.
I’m really happy with my picture, it turned out even better than I hoped. The printing is very crisp and clear, and the acrylic is good quality and a suitable thickness. I could have opted to have holes drilled into the sign so that it can be fixed to the wall.
