I’m a big fan of internet shopping, but missed deliveries can be a real pain. So this new service from Parcel For Me could make the whole experience a lot easier!
Disclosure: This is a collaboration with Parcel For Me, but the opinions in this post are all my own and unbiased.
I love living out in the countryside but there aren’t many big shops around here, so internet shopping has been a real lifesaver over the years. As long as I get myself organised, it saves me the hassle of driving an hour or more to a city centre or shopping centre. And of course, it gives me so much more choice!
But let’s face it, getting your shopping to your home can be a bit of a nightmare. I hate getting home to find a ‘sorry we missed you’ card on the doormat. If I’m lucky they have dropped the parcel round to my neighbours, but if they haven’t then it can be a real hassle organising the re-delivery.
I remember once ordering a pretty nice bottle of malt whisky as a Christmas present. The courier called while I was out on the school run and it took me days to sort out the re-delivery. The courier couldn’t tell me whether the delivery would be in the morning or afternoon, and because the parcel contained alcohol, they wouldn’t deliver it to a different address. In the end I had to cancel a whole day of appointments and plans, just to sit around waiting for the courier. Not what I needed right before Christmas!
So this new service from Parcel For Me looks like it will make life so much easier. If a retailer is offering the service, you’ll be able to use the app to store different delivery addresses, send parcels to a local ‘click and collect’ or locker service, and track your parcel. You can even redirect your parcel in flight, and if there’s a courier you would prefer to use then you can let the retailer know your preference. Take a look at this video to find out more:
Parcel For Me have launched the service to retailers recently and will be making it available to consumers in July. It should make internet shopping even easier than it is now!
You can register for more details and find out about the app at the Parcel For Me website.
