Since I turned 40, I’ve definitely been more aware of the changes in my skin. And I’ve tried to take better care of my skin than my younger self did.

But I have to confess that recently I’ve let it slip a little. Life has just been a bit hectic, and I’ve been a bit lazy with my skincare routine.

So when I was invited to try out Eucerin Hyaluron Filler Concentrate, I took it as an opportunity to kick start my skincare routine and get back into my better habits. It’s a rich serum that you can use both day and night to help boost the appearance of your skin.

And I’ve been really impressed by this serum, read on to find out why!

Skincare in your 40s

If, like me, you’re in your forties, you may well have noticed some changes in your skin over the last few years.

You’re not alone.

This is the time of life when some processes within your skin start to slow down, and the signs of ageing start to show. You’ll probably be noticing a few extra fine lines, a few laughter lines around your eyes, perhaps those vertical lines between your eyebrows are becoming more pronounced.

One of the reasons this happens is that production of Hyaluronic Acid slows down as we age. This is an essential component of the connective tissue within your skin, and as you produce less, your skin starts to lose moisture and volume.

And that shows up as lines and wrinkles in your skin. You may notice them in your 30s, and they’ll become more noticeable as you reach 40 and beyond.

You can’t reverse this process, but you can give your skin a boost and make it look smoother by taking better care of it with high quality skincare products.

The Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Range

Eucerin make products for skin with a range of conditions including dry skin, blemish-prone skin and hypersensitive skin.

The Hyaluron-Filler range has been developed to nourish and plump skin as it starts to show the signs of ageing. Everybody’s skin ages at different rates, so you may decide your skin needs a little extra TLC at any point from your 30s onwards.

The Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler range includes the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate. This can be used alongside the day cream, which comes in light and rich variants to suit different skin types, and also alongside the rich night cream.

There’s also a CC cream, which is available in light and medium shades, and an eye cream to pamper the extra-delicate skin around your eyes.

I received both the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate and the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream for review.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler: First Impressions

The Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler products arrived in boxes that looks quite plain. Inside, the silver packaging has a modern look that is more scientific rather than luxurious.

The Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate is a creamy liquid serum rather than gel, with a light scent.

It is presented in six 5ml bottles, all of which are inside a silver plastic presentation box. This makes it really easy to pop a little bottle into my toiletries bag for travelling, which I really loved.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate retails at around £27.99 for 30ml

Meanwhile the Night Cream is presented in a plastic pot with a screw-top lid. I generally prefer pump action containers for containers where possible, so this was a little bit disappointing. The product has a pleasant scent that is not too strong, and has a rich consistency.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream retails at around £24.99.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler on Review

After trying out the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler products for the last couple of weeks, I’ve been quite impressed by them.

The products contain high molecurlar Hylaronic Acid to hydrate and smooth the outer layers of your skin. It also contains low molecular Hyaluronic, which penetrates further into your skin to help smooth the deeper wrinkles.

And Glycine Saponin helps to support the production of Hyaluronic Acid in the dermal layer of your skin. This is where the deepest wrinkles are formed.

You can use the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate on your face, neck and decolletage, but do make sure that you avoid the delicate eye area.

The serum sinks in quickly, and I loved its plumping effect. You can use this under your day cream as well to give your skin an extra boost for the day ahead.

The Eucerin Hyaluronic-Filler night cream has a very rich consistency, which might be too intense if you have sensitive or oily skin. On my dry skin, it sinks in beautifully, leaving it feeling cared for.

The next morning, my skin still feels plump and smooth, but not at all greasy. My skin looks fresh and ready for the day ahead.

And although the cream is scented, my skin hasn’t had any adverse reaction to the scent and it isn’t overpowering.

Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler: My Verdict

At less than £30 each, these products are good value for money, but I do feel that the packaging is luxurious than I would hope for. It looks scientific, but doesn’t scream luxury.

But when it really comes down to it, the effect on your skin is what really matters. And I have been impressed by these products.

After using Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler products for two weeks, I’ve noticed that my skin looks smoother and plumper.

The dry patches that I sometimes get across my cheeks and forehead have improved, and my skin looks better when I apply foundation.

I definitely feel that the fine lines on my face look less noticeable compared to before I started using the product. But I haven’t seen any major improvement in my deeper wrinkles such as the lines between my eyebrows. It may be that they would need more drastic intervention by now!

Overall, the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Concentrate and Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream are affordable skincare products that pamper and care for skin that is showing signs of ageing.

The Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler range is available online at Chemist Direct and other retailers.
