I spent part of the last week at the World Travel Market show at the ExCel exhibition centre in London. And that is the location of this week’s Sunday photo.
World Travel Market is one of the biggest trade shows in the travel industry, and I spent three days there this week. It’s an incredibly exciting experience, and very tiring – I can’t believe how much walking I did!
The Docklands area of London has been totally changed over the last few decades. Although it is now full of skyscrapers, glass and steel, the area used to be a very different place. This statue welcomes you to the venue as you approach the exhibition centre from the Royal Victoria DLR station.
It’s a reminder that the area has a history in a very different kind of industry to the finance and e-commerce that you might associate it with now.
