This week’s video comes from ITB Berlin – the world’s leading travel show. It’s a must-visit for anyone who is interested in travel!
In March 2018 I paid a flying visit to Berlin, so that I could attend the ITB Berlin travel and tourism trade show.
It’s an amazing event which takes place every March at the Berlin Messe exhibition centre. 26 halls are filled with fantastic stands, representing 10,000 companies and organisations from over 100 countries. If you’ve ever been to World Travel Market in London, it’s like that only bigger.
The event lasts five days – the first three are set aside for trade and press only, but on Saturday and Sunday the show is open to the general public. And a total of 170,000 people visited over the five days of ITB Berlin 2018.
ITB Berlin covers familiar destinations from all around the world, and some not so familiar destinations as well. So keep your eye open for a very special ‘cruise’ option towards the end of the video!
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of only planning to visit on the second day of the show. I flew to Berlin on the Thursday morning, spent a day looking around the exhibition, and then flew home the following morning. But I just couldn’t cover everything in that single day. Next year I’m definitely planning on staying for longer!
I’ll be writing up a full list of tips for visiting ITB Berlin soon. But in the meantime, here are my highlights from this year’s show. And I’ve added in a few quick tips on what to do if you’re planning to visit.
