It’s time for me to head home from Portugal today. But there’s a lot to look forward to this September at SallyAkins.com!
It’s my birthday!
Well, not mine exactly…but this month marks 5 years since I posted for the very first time here at SallyAkins.com. And if you want a laugh, please feel free to click through to that first post!
There were a few false starts, the blog’s focus has changed a bit, and it took me a while to start blogging regularly. But I reckon that five years of blogging deserves a special celebration. So I’ve got some fab giveaways planned for you here on the blog, and they all kick off next week. Here are the details, I’ll add in the links as each giveaway goes live:
- Monday: Win £50 cash via PayPal (this one is open to readers worldwide!)
- Tuesday: Win 2 tickets to the BBC Good Food Show at Birmingham
- Wednesday: Win a Chocolate Truffle Tree from Find A Gift
- Thursday: Win a personally inscribed, signed copy of ‘The Second Chance Cafe in Carlton Square’; Win a Niederegger Chocolate Marzipan Selection box
- Friday: Win a Sanctuary skin care gift set
I’ve got some more giveaways lined up for later in the month. And on top of all of that, the £100 cash giveaway that I’m running with my blogger friends is still open to readers worldwide until 30th September.
Pretty exciting, eh? And there’s more…
As you may have seen yesterday, my Reading Challenge update for August left me at 40 books. That was my tally before I left for Portugal, so I was hoping to be able to tell you that I’d hit my 45 books tally after my holiday. Did I reach it? You’ll be able to find out in my Holiday update next Friday. I’m also going to do a second update at the end of September to add any books that I read this month.
Later this month, I’ll be heading to the Malvern Autumn Festival over at the Three Counties Showground. I’ve been to the RHS Malvern Spring Festival before, but never visited the Autumn event. I’ll be writing about what I see, and of course what I eat, towards the end of the month.
And Ollie is pretty excited because he’s going to be getting behind the wheel for a Young Driver lesson this month. He turns 16 in October, andhas half an eye on his provisional licence next October. Check back later in the month to find out how he gets on.
I’m a teacher so I dread September lol although I do love autumn x
I am baffled for two reasons – that it’s September already and WHY there are Christmas cards and boxes of chocolates {with snow on them} in the shops already!
Happy bloganniversary! I’ve been blogging on and off for 6 years and I know how hard it is to blog regularly so well done!
I don’t usually like September as I love summer, but I’m going to Korea next week and will be traveling around for a few months so I’m actually quite excited for it this year!
Well done on the five year anniversary that’s great news, and how the hell have you read 40 books already?! I’ve barely read about 6 x
How exciting! 5 years of blogging is a great achievement!
Awwh wow so much going on!! I love the sound of the autumn festival though wish there was one near me!!
Well done for blogging for 5 years. This is a good achievement!
Thanks Lubka! Fingers crossed for another 5 years :-)
