I still can’t quite believe that we’ve spent the complete month of April under lockdown in the UK. Who would have thought at the start of the year that we’d spend all this time at home, only leaving for essential journeys!
The photograph at the top of this page was taken on my visit to Portmeiron Village in North Wales in April 2019. It was one of my favourite trips from last year, and I would love to be by the waterside or exploring the Italianate village again right now. But right now, the safest place to be is right here at home, and we have plenty here on SallyAkins.com to help keep you occupied.
This month, I’m taking a look back at a journey that I made a couple of years ago, but which hasn’t appeared here on the blog until now. I spent five days travelling around Scotland on the Scotrail ‘Spirit of Scotland’ rail pass. It was my first visit to Scotland and a fantastic experience.
Around this time of year, I should be travelling to Malvern to visit the RHS Malvern Spring Festival. It’s one of the highlights of the year for me, and the show gardens there are always fabulous.
