Summer is just around the corner and we’ve got plans lined up for the next few weeks here at SallyAkins.com
Spring is turning into Summer, and although some days are still cool enough to have me reaching for an extra layer, the weather is definitely looking promising.
So how are you getting on, as we move into another month under lockdown? I’m coming to terms with a very empty calendar, which would normally be packed at this time of year.
June sees Father’s Day of course, but it’s looking like we’ll be celebrating the day at home rather than going out for dinner as usual. If you’re still looking for Father’s Day gift ideas, don’t forget to check out our Gift Guide for Father’s Day.

Usually I would be visiting the Birmingham NEC this month, for the Good Food Show Summer and Gardeners World Live. Of course, they’ve been cancelled this year, so why not take a look back through our coverage from previous years:

Travel Inspiration
And this month I was also meant to be heading off to Ironbridge for a weekend with my sons. Hopefully that is just being rescheduled rather than cancelled because it’s a gorgeous place to visit, especially in the summer.
We spent a long weekend there back in 2018, and really enjoyed our stay – you can read about it in this post. The area has had a double whammy this year, with some of the worst flooding on record in February followed by the lockdown in March.
When travel opens up again, it’s definitely somewhere to consider for a day trip, weekend or longer staycation. I’ll be sharing some ideas for things to do in the area later this month.
