I always look forward to June – it’s time for the Gardeners’ World Live and Good Food Summer show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Do you love cooking, gardening or even just spending time outdoors in the garden? Then the Good Food Summer show and Gardeners’ World Live are must-see events. As always, they are taking place at the Birmingham NEC and the shows run from 16-19 June 2016. One ticket covers both shows, and tickets are still available through the websites below.
The Good Food Show always has a mass of exciting food producers to visit, and plenty of food and drink to sample. The Supertheatre sponsored by Magimix will play host to popular chefs and cooks like Tom Kerridge, Paul Hollywood, Mary Berry and Michel Roux Jr. You can also see interviews with celebrity chefs and recipe demonstrations over on the Good Food stage sponsored by Lakeland.
I always really enjoy looking through the Producers Village, which is full of smaller brands and speciality food producers. I’ve found some real gems in this area in the past – take a look at my report from last year’s show. And in the Eat Well Pavilion, you’ll find a selection of healthy food producers to help you create delicious nutritious meals.
If you’re keen on gardening, then there is plenty to keep you occupied at Gardeners’ World Live. Monty Don, Carol Klein, Joe Swift and others will be on the Gardeners’ World Live Stage sponsored by Wyevale Garden Centre. You can get plenty of inspiration from the Show Gardens, APL Avenue Show Garden Competition and Beautiful Borders. You’re bound to find something you love over in the Floral Marquee. I always come away with a few new lily bulbs and perhaps a rose bush or two.
New for this year’s show are the VegTrug Grow Your Own stage, the Rose Festival and Small Garden Solutions. And of course there will be masses of shopping opportunities both inside the NEC and outdoors. Let’s hope the weather stays fine!
And don’t forget under-18s go free at the weekend. There are plenty of activities aimed at keeping little ones entertained (up to 2 kids go free per paying adult. Children aged 5 and under are free every day)
The Good Food Summer Show and Gardeners’ World Live is one of my Summer highlights and I can’t wait to go. Check back next week to read my review of the shows.
