    i am sorry but i am not a summer person, i am very fair skinned and since i was small i have always liked the winter better. i like the late summer nights when the sun has gone down and going for a walk and listening to the birds at night, i love the early mornings before the sun comes up. i do like to sit in the shade with a good book, i sometimes wish i could sit at the beach and get a beautiful tan but sadly all i ever get in red skin…lol

    My favourite thing about summer is the late-night garden parties, in the evening haze, draping a cardigan around the shoulders, fire pit going and a glass of wine!

    The abundance in nature; in my favourite park the new birds of spring are growing and getting ready to leave their parents. The trees are heavy with foliage that rustles in the evening’s breeze, whilst the roses in full bloom stand proud of their beauty. Elsewhere in the fields the final touches are added to crops that will carry us through the barren winter. The English summer is ripe and full and offers its very best for us to enjoy.

    Theres so much to like about this time of year. Long, happy bike rides with the family through little villages stopping off to buy ice lollies on our travels is my favourite thing to do then heading back home for a barbecue lunch. Happy days


    Planning our summer holiday in the sun, I love researching all the resorts, the hotels and cultural sights. When booked it gives us something exciting to look forward to, treating ourselves to some new holiday clothes and planning our route to the airport.

    Being able to spend lots of time in the garden, we’ve been isolating since March 2020 as our 11 year old has Down’s Syndrome and his immune system is very poor, so being stuck in over winter wasn’t much fun, so we’re making up for it by having picnics and parties in the garden.
