I love to buy fresh whole walnuts and use the nutcracker to open them in front of the fire on Christmas Eve.

  2. Caroline Tinsley says:

My husband always makes cranberry muffins on Christmas Eve to eat for breakfast on Christmas morning, such a treat!

  3. Susan B says:

Homemade trifle and homemade pavlova, both with lashings of whipped cream. If it doesn’t end up round your ears and running down your arms, there wasn’t enough on them!

  4. Kristina Trick says:

Definitely mince pies! Hated them as a kid but love them now. I want one now but I’m holding back until December

Whatever I find in the markdowns on Xmas Eve in Waitrose. My income hasn’t kept up with inflation for over a decade now, but because Waitrose have to close multiple days over Xmas, they still mark down to decent prices on Xmas Eve.

Quality Street remind me of childhood Christmas but my little indulgent treat is Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a glass of bubbly for Christmas breakfast.

  7. Patricia Avery says:

Marzipan……..with or without the Christmas Cake ……or chocolate covering. I always treat myself to a packet when I do the Christmas shop!

I love Lindor Truffle Balls in as many flavours as I can find. Ideal for all my house guests, as prizes for getting a question right when we play Trivial Pursuit and after dinner treats. In fact found lots of bargains today, Black Friday.

I love a chocolate yule log, preferably home made but because I have developed food intolerances :( we now settle for a choc fudge yule log from Asda which is delicious but not quite so hefty.
