Buying Christmas gifts for men can certainly be tricky. If they have a particular hobby or interest, then you’ve probably got an idea of what to get them. But what do you get if you’re lacking inspiration or they can’t think of anything they want?
I’ve put together a fantastic collection of gift ideas here that would be perfect for the man in your life.
Now it’s true that most of these aren’t only suitable for men. In fact, I think I’d be very happy to receive some of them myself – with the possible exception of the aftershave. Although I have been known to borrow a spritz of Mark’s aftershave occasionally!
Clothes and Accessories
So let’s start off this gift guide with a classic men’s present – socks!
Yes, socks are the perennial gift idea, even if they’re a bit of a joke gift in my family. I really love these socks from Quiet Rebellion though. They combine a classic black sock with a really funky sole, which is ideal if the gift recipient works in a more traditional office.
Quiet Rebellion socks are made from soft brushed cotton with a touch of nylon for durability, and come in single pairs or box sets. There’s a wide range of designs, so you’re bound to find something suitable. This triple pack would make a great gift*.
And you’ll find a wide range of gifts and accessories for men at Dobell – including these nifty little cufflinks.
They are made from genuine threepenny bits, and have a solid, high quality feel.
They would make a thoughtful gift for someone who likes vintage style, or who remembers pre-decimal coins!
And the great thing about cufflinks is that they’re available to suit all tastes and budgets. You can pick up a reasonably priced pair of modern blue enamel cufflinks* or blow the budget on a pair from a designer brand like Mont Blanc*.
Or if you are buying for a football lover, then why not take a look at the Art of Football.
The Art of Football have a range of t-shirts and sweatshirts, all themed around the beautiful game. They take iconic photos like this one of Johann Cruyff, and turn them into gorgeous pieces of artwork.
You can choose from a wide range of football teams, which also includes some national teams. England fans can pick from the ‘50 Years of Hurt‘ range, and even select their own 5 players to build their own England shirt. The Art of Football have also branched out into other sports like boxing.
The t-shirts are a really good quality heavyweight cotton, and come in very attractive packaging. They’re a novel gift which I’m sure will be really popular for a sports fan.
Or if your sports fan prefers to display their allegiance on their wall, you can also buy framed and unframed prints and even an A3 canvas.
Skincare and Grooming
Of course, aftershave and other male grooming products are also popular gift ideas. And Boots have a fantastic range of men’s aftershaves, fragrances and gift sets.
I love this Gucci Guilty Pour Homme*. It has a light, slightly floral fragrance with notes of Orange Blossom, Patchouli and Lavender – it’s ideal for any man who wants an unusual, non-conformist fragrance.
Another gorgeous scent for men is Chanel Bleu, but rather than buying another standard bottle of aftershave, I try to find something a bit different like this Bleu de Chanel travel set*.
This Refillable Travel Spray set comes with three 20ml refills. It’s perfect for use when travelling and after sport.
I also love to look for gifts from classic brands when I’m buying presents for the men in my family.
Gillette is one of the classic brands in men’s grooming, and they have a range of gift sets to choose from. This Gillette gift set* ties in with the Justice League film and would be a great gift for any DC comic book aficionado.
And Naissance have a range of several relaxing massage oil gift sets* available to choose from.
This Lean Mean Knot-free massage oil gift set* is ideal for loosening stressed shoulders. It includes a wooden massager and a rosemary and hemp massage oil. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, and perfect for easing knots of tension.
You probably know the Zippo brand for their classic Zippo windproof lighters*, which are still a great gift idea. Zippo lighters are perfect for lighting fires and camping cookers. So this make them definitely worth considering for anyone who loves outdoor pursuits.
But Zippo have other gift ideas available, like their Hand Warmers*, wallets, and this gorgeous hip flask*. If you’re buying a gift for an outdoors person, I would definitely recommend taking a look at the Zippo range.
Or for a more modern take on the hand warmer idea, how about this rechargeable hand warmer*. It comes in a range of colours and can be charged via USB.
They are noise-cancelling and come in a variety of colours. You can get 12 hours play time from a single charge and the built-in microphone is compatible with Windows, iOS and Android.
A bottle of something is always a popular present for both Mark and his father. This gorgeous Haig Club Whisky* doesn’t just taste delicious, but it also comes in a very attractive bottle.
Or if you’re buying for a coffee lover, then the Oomph Coffee Maker* is a fantastic gift. You could combine it with a selection of coffee and some baked goodies to provide a really thoughtful home-made hamper.
And the final present on this list nearly made my own Christmas wishlist because I love going to the cinema. A subscription to the Cineworld Unlimited scheme gives you a year of free cinema tickets, as well as discounts on snacks and drinks.
Or if an annual subscription is outside your budget, you can buy gift cards at smaller denominations.
