Buying gifts for men can certainly be tricky. If they have a particular hobby or interest, then you’ve probably got an idea of what to get them. But what do you get if you’re lacking inspiration or they can’t think of anything they want?
So I’ve put together a fantastic collection of gift ideas here that are perfect for Dad or Grandad this Father’s Day.
Now it’s true that most of these aren’t only suitable for men. In fact, I’d be very happy to receive some of them myself with the possible exception of the aftershave. Although I have been known to borrow a spritz of Mark’s aftershave occasionally!
But these are my suggestions for gifts that your father, husband, brother or even son would be happy to unwrap. I’ve added alternatives to cover different price points. And I’ve thrown in a couple of dream gift ideas as well, in case you’re feeling extra generous.
And of course, if you can’t decide on a gift for your favourite man, an Amazon Gift e-voucher* or gift card is always a popular choice. You can choose from a range of card designs, and pick the amount that you want to give them. Click here to take a look at the range of card designs available*

Clothes and Accessories
Clothing and accesories are always a popular choice when it comes to gifts for men. And I’m sure you’ll already have some ideas for clothing gifts for men, so I’ve picked out a few ideas that I think would make great gifts for Father’s Day.
So let’s start off this gift guide with a classic men’s present – socks!
Yes, socks are the perennial gift idea, even if they’re a bit of a joke gift in my family. I really love this pack of socks from The Sock Exchange*. You get 6 odd socks so the recipient can mix and match them to their heart’s content.
And because they are classic black from the heel upwards, they’re ideal for someone working in a more traditional office. Click here to check current pricing on Amazon*
Or if you prefer to give matching socks, then take a look at this pair from Quiet Rebellion. Like the pack above, they combine a classic black sock with a really funky sole.
Quiet Rebellion socks are made from soft brushed cotton with a touch of nylon for durability. They would make a fab gift – click here to check pricing on Amazon*
Cufflinks are always a thoughtful gift for any man who wears them. There’s such a wide range of prices and styles that you’re bound to be able to find something that’s perfect for Dad or Grandad.
These golf cufflinks from John Lewis would be a perfect gift for a golfer. They are made in a fun golf ball and putter design, and come in a smart gift box. And the price is very budget-friendly. Click here to check current pricing*
If you’re shopping with a larger budget, then how about treating your special man to a pair of these gorgeous Georg Jensen cufflinks. They’re made of solid sterling silver and have a contemporary spiral design.
They’re one of a range of Georg Jensen cufflinks on the John Lewis and would make a very special gift. Click here to check availability and pricing.
Or if you would like to get a more personal gift, how about these cute personalised cufflinks? They feature an imprint of your little one’s hands or feet, and can be engraved with a name or short message. You can make a matching pair, or feature different prints and text on each cufflink.
An impression kit is sent out to you when you place your order. When you send back the impressions using the free returns envelope, work begins on creating your special gift.
You should receive your cufflinks within 10 working days of when the completed impressions are received by the supplier. So this gift does need a little planning!
They’re an adorable gift for any new Dad or Grandad.
Luggage and Bags
Or for a man who loves travel, how about one of these gorgeous bags?
The Calgary holdall is made from a sumptuous wool blend with leather trim, for a look that never goes out of style. It’s a good size for weekends away, and has internally zipped pockets to keep essential items right at hand.
Or for someone who prefers to check in luggage, this Ted Baker Jets flight bag is ideal. It is made from a faux-leather and has a main inside compartment and a front slip pocket.
It’s perfect for carrying his passport, tickets and other essentials on-board his next flight. Click here to check price and availability on the John Lewis website*.
This gift set is also from Ted Baker, and would make a lovely birthday, Father’s Day or Christmas gift.
It includes a leather wallet with contrast trim detailing and a matching card holder. The bifold wallet has eight card slots and two note compartments, while the card holder will hold six cards.
And it’s all presented in a gift box, which always makes gift wrapping a little easier!
Or you could select this elegant gift set from Barbour. The leather belt is finished with a contrast trim and engraved metal buckle. The gift set also includes a four-slot leather card holder and a central card slot lined with Barbours signature tartan.
And how about a style classic like a pair of Converse All-Stars? Now I have to admit here that I’m partly including these because I practically live in my Chucks. So I know from personal how fantastically comfy they are, as well as looking great.
They come in a wide range of colour to suit all tastes. So you could either go for a classic black or white, or why not pick one of the limited edition colours that come out each year.
Skincare and Grooming
Of course, aftershave and other male grooming products are also popular gift ideas. And there are a fantastic range of men’s aftershaves, fragrances and gift sets available on the market. You’ll be spoiled for choice when you’re picking gifts for Dads, brothers or husbands!
Aftershave and Fragrance
I love this Gucci Guilty Pour Homme* eau de toilette. It has a light, slightly floral fragrance with notes of Lemon, Orange Blossom, Patchouli and Lavender. It doesn’t conform to the standard ideas of a male fragrance so it’s ideal for any man who wants an unusual, non-conformist scent.
Another gorgeous scent for men is Chanel Bleu, which is a modern classic. But rather than buying another standard bottle of aftershave, I try to find something a bit different like this Bleu de Chanel travel set.
This Refillable Travel Spray set comes with three 20ml refills, and it’s perfect for use when travelling and after sport. Click here to check the current price on Amazon*.
If you find it hard to pick a new fragrance for your Dad, why not choose one which is in the same range as one of his favourites?
Often brands will introduce a new twist on a popular scent, like this BOSS Bottled Night. It’s an intense, spicy scent with wood notes including a replica of Louro Amarelo wood.
It’d be a great evening scent for someone who loves the original BOSS Bottled fragrance.
Or why not go retro, and pick a scent that you remember him wearing from years ago for a trip down memory lane?
I have a soft spot for Dior’s Fahrenheit, a gorgeous scent with top notes of mandarin and base notes of cedar, patchouli and leather. It may have been around for years (decades…) but it still smells so good!
Shaving and Grooming products
And whether you’re buying for a clean-shaven man or one who’s a little more hirsuite, you’ll find something to suit in my next selection of gifts for men.
This Percy Nobleman Beard Grooming set is perfect for any man who’s proud of his beard. Every item has been hand-selected to help him establish a grooming routine to leave his beard looking its best.
The Beard Grooming Kit has been designed with products which help to soften, tame and manage facial hair. It includes 30ml of Percy Nobleman Beard Conditioning Oil, 30ml of Percy Nobleman Beard Wash, a 20ml tin of Percy Nobleman Beard Balm plus a folding pocket beard/moustache comb. Tame your beard once and for all!
The four step plan is suitable for long or short beards, or even for men who are just starting to grow out their beard. It’s a great way to acheive a healthier, cleaner beard and also perfect for travel washkits.
Of if you’re buying for a man who prefers the clean-shaven look, why not treat him to this luxurious set from Taylor of Old Bond Street. They’re a brand who have been providing the finest luxury male grooming products and accessories for generations.
This set is perfect for a man who is just getting into wet shaving. Inside the elegant gift box you’ll find a 150g bowl of Sandalwood shave cream and a synthetic bristle shaving brush.
I also love to look for gifts from classic brands when I’m buying presents for the men in my family. And Gilette is one of the classic brands in shaving.
This Limited Edition gift pack includes a Limited Edition ProShield razor with a chrome handle razor and four replacement blades, plus a can of shaving gel and a stand.
The razor has a sleek design and rubber grip for a smooth feel during shaving, while the shaving gel helps to protect and soothe the skin. This kit would make a wonderful gift for a man who likes a touch of luxury during his grooming routine.
A lot of men are taking their skincare much more seriously these days. So why not pamper him with this gorgeous skincare set from Clinique?
It’s a budget friendly gift set which is contains a trio of daily face products for men with dry skin, in travel-friendly sizes. You can also get similar kits for men with oily or mature skin.
This set contains a set of customised formulas to help his skin feel sooth and comfortable. The Face Wash cleanses thoroughly but gently, and the luxurious Cream Shave helps to guard against nicks and razor drag during shaving. Then after shaving, he can use the ultralight Maximum Hydrator for a plumping moisture boost that lasts. And all of these products are allergy tested and fragrance free.
It’s great for a man who likes to try out a new range of skincare, or to pop in his travel wash kit. Click here to check pricing on the John Lewis website*
And Naissance have a range of several relaxing massage oil gift sets available to choose from.
This Lean Mean Knot-free massage oil gift set is ideal for loosening stressed shoulders. It includes a wooden massager and a rosemary and hemp massage oil. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, and perfect for easing knots of tension.
Time for some gadgets and tech gifts for Father’s Day now. And first up I’ve picked out some suggestions for a gift idea that regularly features on my sons’ wishlists!
Headphones and Earphones
The Soundmagic E10 in ear headphones get good reviews in Stuff magazine and What Hi-Fi. They provide excellent sound quality that you might usually expect from much more expensive headphones, with powerful bass and sparkling vocals. The ear buds are engineered for comfort, and inside the sheath of the cord the twisted wiring reduces the risk of tangling.
These earphones come with a storage pouch, and are available in a range of colours. Click here to check prices and availability on Amazon*
Or if you’re buying for someone who prefers on-ear headphones, then the Urbanista Seattle headphones are a good option. Like the Soundmagic earphones above, these regularly get good reviews online and in Stuff magazine.
They’re a premium foldable wireless headphone with Bluetooth technology, and are compatible with Android, iOS and Windows. The comfortable memory foam ear pads can be swivelled horizontally and vertically to give the perfect fit. And the crisp audio reproduction, impressive bass levels and noise cancelling feature give excellent audio.
Or if you’re shopping with a more generous budget, how about these Bose Soundsport in-ear headphones. They boast top of the range Bluetooth technology, so they’ll play reliably and consistently, even if they’re paired to your phone in your nearby gym bag.
They’re also IPX4 rated weather resistant, so they’ll cope with the rain or a particularly heavy workout. And they are fully controlled from the right ear bud, allowing you to play or pause tracks, take phone calls, or even access your phone’s virtual assistant.
The supplied case keeps the ear buds securely protected, and recharges them back to full power too. They’ll last up to five hours off one charge, and the fully charged case will give two additional full charges.
And of course, they are packed with excellent Bose sound technology, delivering the big powerful sound you expect from Bose. I think I may even add a pair of these to my own wishlist this year!
If you’re buying for a book loving man, how about treating him to a Kindle? I was a reluctant convert to e-readers at first, but now I couldn’t be without my Kindle. I can take so many more books away with me on holiday!
The Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof to IPX8 standard, so you can read in the bath or by the pool without any worries. It has 8GB storage so you can pack it full of books and magazines, and a single charge will last for weeks.
And you can even load Audible audiobooks onto it and pair it up to your Bluetooth headphones..
Cameras and Photography Equipment
If your budget stretches to it, then a new camera would be a fantastic gift idea. And my Canon G7x is another gadget that I can’t be without.
I use this for the majority of the videos and photos here on this blog. It’s lightweight, simple to use and the quality of the photos is great.
The camera has a range of preset programmes that you can use if you’re unsure of how to shoot in manual mode, or there are other programmes such as Aperture Priority. It will shoot in RAW if you wish, and records video in full 1080p at 50 frames per second.
The tiltable screen makes taking selfies or filming vlogs really easy, as well as taking photos from awkward angles. You can also download images direct from your camera to your phone, using the built-in WiFi transfer and app.
I’m a huge fan of this camera, the only downside is that you can’t change the lens on it. But with a really great zoom and close up capabilities, you may feel you dn’t need another lens. Click here to check current pricing of the Canon G7x II on Amazon*
Or if they’ve already got a camera that they love, how about giving them a new lens for it. Any keen photographer will tell you that the ‘glass’ makes a big difference to the quality of photograph that you can take with a camera.
So why not treat them to a new telephoto lens for taking distance shots or a prime lens to give that gorgeous blurry background. The Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens, or ‘Nifty Fifty’, is perfect for portraits and close-up shots as well as night-time photography.
Just be sure to check that the lens you are buying will fit the camera body that they use. You may have to do a little detective work to check the exact model they have!
Other Tech Gifts
How about this handy little gadget for a man who’s always misplacing his keys?
The Tile Pro is a really powerful tracker that will let you find your keys, phone or other item. It’salso waterproof up to 1.5 metres so that it’s protected against the worst of the British waather!
You can attached the Tile to most objects that you regularly misplace, like your keys, laptop or handbag. Once your smartphone is within the Bluetooth signal range (200 feet), you’ll start to heard the distinctive Tile melody.
And you can also use your Tile to track down your phone within range. Just press your Tile twice and it will make your phone ring, even if it’s on silent.
I can certainly think of a few people who would find this very useful!
And my final suggestion for this section of the Ultimate Gift Guide for Men is a gift idea that has been very popular with my husband and sons!
A drone is great fun to fly, and you can take some fab photos and videos from the air. Obviously if budget allows, you could invest in one of the market leaders like a DJI Mavic*. That will give you some seriously high quality footage.
But for a beginner drone at a more reasonable price, the Snaptain S5c gets good reviews on Amazon.
It has one button take off and landing, and is easy to fly for beginners. It also will hold a steady altitude position which is vital for taking aerial shots without shakiness. And one key return is a useful function to prevent your drone getting lost.
With its 720P HD camera, you’ll get better quality photos and footage than from a lot of beginner drones. And it’s fun to fly, with Trajectory Flight meaning you can draw a flight path on your mobile screen and the drone will follow it.
Food and Drink
Food and drink always make fabulous gift ideas at any time of year. So here are a few gifts for men with a passion for good food and drink.
Gifts for Coffee Lovers
If you’re buying for a coffee lover, then the Oomph Coffee Maker is a fantastic gift. Unlike a regular cafetiere or french press, the Oomph allows you to lock away the coffee grounds when your coffee has brewed for long enough.
That means that the coffee doesn’t carry on brewing while you’re drinking your first cup. So there’s none of the bitterness that you get with over-brewed coffee.
You could combine an Oomph Coffee Makerwith a selection of coffee beans and some baked goodies to create a really thoughtful home-made hamper.
Or for an espresso fan, how about this fab Nespresso Citiz machine? It creates delicious, full-bodied coffee in two cup sizes at the touch of a button.
I have one of these machines in my office, and love how quick and easy it is to use, taking less than a minute to warm up. The Citiz plus Milk has a milk warming attachment which my son loves to use to make himself a latte.
There is a wide range of official Nespresso capsules to choose from. And these days you can also find masses of Nespress compatible capsules online and in the shops. You can even get capsules that are 100% compostible*!
If your budget doesn’t stretch to an espresso machine, or they already have one, then why not get them some gorgeous espresso cups instead.
I love these colourful stackable Orla Kiely cups, which feature her iconic Linear Stem design. But there’s such a wide range of styles on the market that you’re bound to find something that your favourite man will absolutely love!
Or how about picking out an edible gift instead? This Ploughman’s Box from Edinburgh Preserves contains everything you need to turn some cheese and bread into a delicious ploughman’s lunch.
This tasty gift set includes handmade rosemary biscuits from the north of Scotland, along with Beer & Black Peppercorn mustard and two fruity and sweet chutneys. There’s also a delicious Farmhouse Pate to complete the meal.
If the man you’re buying for is vegan, it can be a bit trickier to find a foodie gift. But there are some options on the market, and the range is growing all the time.
I love the look of this Vibrant Vegan Sack from John Lewis, which would be a perfect Father’s Day treat for a vegan Dad or Grandad.
It is filled with yummy vegan goodies, including some cumin breadsticks for dipping together with some chilli and garlic olives. There’s also some organic chocolate and orange cookies and Honeycomb Milk chocolate to satisfy his sweet tooth.
There’s even a bottle of vegan Sauvignon Blanc to round off the celebration!
And for the man with a sweet tooth, what could be better than this bumper ‘Best of British’ retro sweet collection?
It’s fantastic value, and weights in at over 1kg. The box is jam-packed full of masses of yummy sweets from his childhood. He’ll be able to feast on Refresher Chews and mini Wham Bars, Sherbet Fountains and Double Dips and much more.
My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
If nothing above appeals, then hopefully you’ll find something in my final round up of gifts for men. It covers all the other gifts ideas that don’t quite fit elsewhere!
If you’re buying a gift for an outdoors person, I’d definitely recommend taking a look at the Zippo range.
You probably know the Zippo brand for their classic Zippo windproof lighters. These make a great gift for a Dad who loves walking, hiking or other outdoor pursuits.
Because Zippo lighters are windproof, it makes them perfect for lighting fires and camping cookers. And you can find a wide range of styles to suit the man you’re buying for.
I really like this classic black crackle lighter, which has a lifetime guarantee and comes in its own gift box.
And Zippo have other outdoor gift ideas in their range, like wallets or this hip flask.
It’s a 6oz stainless steel flask with a leather casing that’s embossed with the Zippo logo. It would make a luxurious gift for a Dad or Grandad who enjoys a little nip of something when he’s out walking or working in the garden!
Or how about this lovely reusable handwarmer from Zippo?
The handwarmer is sleek and lightweight, and comes with a filler cup and warming bag. It’d be a perfect Father’s Day gift for a Dad or Grandad who loves walking, fishing or other outdoor activities.
The handwarmer delivers up to 12 hours of heat with one fill. And it provides up to 10 times more heat than a disposable handwarmer as well as creating less single-use waste.
It comes in a range of colours but I think the classic chrome finish is hard to beat.
Do you like the idea of a handwarmer but don’t want the faff of refills? If so, this rechargeable electronic handwarmer from OCOOPA could be the perfect Father’s Day gift!
It is fast heating and easy to use – simply press the button and it will release a gentle warming heat. The handwarmer will warm up on both sides in seconds, and three levels of heat will give perfect comfort.
The OCOOPA handwarmer has protection against overheating, shortcircruit and over charging. And its large capacity battery means it will run for a long time off one charge. You can even use it as a power bank to charge a phone!
This gift would be perfect not just for someone who loves outdoor pursuits, but also for anyone who suffers from arthritis in their hands as the heat will help to provide comfort.
Sometimes it feels impossible to buy a gift for someone. Either they say they have everything they need, or their tastes are so specific that you’re worried that you won’t pick the right thing.
When this happens, one of my favourite solutions is to send the lucky recipient on an experience day instead. There’s a massive selection of days and price ranges , so you’re sure to find one that’s suitable for Dad or Grandad.
Why not treat your special man to a luxurious afternoon tea? With the Buyagift Afternoon Tea with Bubbles experience, Dad can choose from 275 locations across the UK. So he’s bound to find a suitable venue near him.
The voucher is valid for 24 months, so there’s plenty of time for him to pick the perfect location for afternoon tea with a guest.
He can enjoy a traditional experience in a countryside inn or a taste of the high life at a smart hotel. Whichever he chooses, he’ll be able to sample a delicious spread of sandwiches, scones and cakes.
Or for a more high octane experience, how about the Buyagift Driving Blasts experience? Whether you’re buying for a 4×4 fan or someone who loves an Italian supercar, there’s a wide range of driving experiences to choose from with this gift.
He’ll be able to choose from 265 experiences all over the UK, from a racing quad bikes, taking one of eight supercars around Blyton Park or enjoying a smooth ride in an Aston Martin. The choices are endless!
If a driving experience seems a little bit tame, why not let your special man take to the skies with the Red Letter Days Flight experience?
He’ll enjoy a 30 minute flight in a light aircraft, long enough to take in some fabulous views with a fully qualified instructure. The pilot will explain the controls and demonstrate how the plane is operated. And at the pilot’s discretion, Dad may even be able to take over the controls and enjoy the thrill of flying a plane.
And if he really catches the flying bug, he can use the time in the air towards his Private Pilot’s License.
Or for something completely different, maybe he’d prefer a relaxing luxury weekend getaway with the Buyagift Luxury Getaway Experience.
Whoever you buy this gift for will be able to choose from over 425 extragant luxurious two-night breaks at a range of venues across the UK. Whether he wants to enjoy a city break, a seaside break or a country retreat, there’s something to be something suitable in this selection.
And the voucher is valid for 24 months, so there’s plenty of time for Dad to pick his perfect luxury getaway.
And the final present on this list is one that I’d love to receive myself, because I absolutely love going to the cinema. A subscription to the Cineworld Unlimited scheme gives you a year of free cinema tickets, as well as discounts on snacks and drinks.
Whoever you buy this subscription for will receive a gift box containing their Cineworld Unlimited card and a leather wallet to keep it in. Or if an annual subscription is outside your budget, you can also buy gift cards at smaller denominations.
