Ready for another Fitness Friday? This week I’ve ordered myself a home exercise DVD, started a new Instagram account and I’ve been trying out some zingy gym bag essentials from Superdrug.
Disclosure: This Fitness Friday post includes PR samples, but the opinons expressed are my own and unbiased.
The weather has been pretty gorgeous this week, and I’ve really been enjoying my walks with Charlie. He shows no sign of getting tired even when our morning walk has been stretched out to 2 miles. I can’t wait to take him for walks further afield.
Citrus Essentials for your Gym Bag from Superdrug
This week I’ve been sent some gorgeous zingy products from Superdrug, which I think would be perfect to throw in your gym bag. I like a long bubbly soak in the bath as much as anyone else. But first thing in the morning, or after a workout, I really want to have something that’s going to wake me up and revive me.
The Superdrug Tea Tree Lemon Facial Wash* (affiliate link) has a gorgeous fresh scent to refresh and revive you. It contains lemon oil to help cleanse the skin of dirt and excess oil, while the tea tree oil has antibacterial properties. It’s ideal if your skin is prone to breakouts and costs just £3.29.
Or to kickstart your shower with Original Source Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel*, which has a really zingy scent as well as being vegan and not tested on animals. It’s just the sort of thing I like to wake me up in the morning, or to freshen up after my workout. It’s usually £2.50 but at the time of writing, Superdrug have it at the special price of just £1.00 – bargain! (By the way, this particular scent is a Superdrug exclusive)
My personal favourite though is the Superdrug Orange and Satsuma Fruity Shower Gel*. The scent is amazing, really sweet and tangy – I love the smell of satsumas and this really does remind me of them. It’s also soap free, pH balanced and contains skin conditioners so it helps keep your skin soft as well as reviving you.
It’s definitely worth throwing one or more of these in your basket next time you’re at Superdrug, they’re ideal to add to your gym bag!
I’ve decided that I want to get back to doing some exercise at home. Don’t get me wrong, I love my walks with Charlie but they don’t really get my heart rate up as much as I’d like. And going to the gym is fine, but sometimes I just want to work out at home. I’ve really enjoyed doing Beachbody’s Focus T25 workout before – it works really well for me, the 25 minute format is fab, and I love Shaun T as an instructor. But I’m a bit concerned that my back won’t quite stand up to it yet. It’s still improving, and I don’t want to give myself a setback so I’ll save T25 til later in the year..
So this week I’ve ordered PiYo, a Beachbody home workout by Chalene Johnson. As well as burning fat and defining muscles, it combines the core strengthening of Pilates with the flexibility benefits of yoga. I really enjoy both of those exercises on their own, so I’m really looking forward to trying out PiYo. I’ll let you know how I get on with it, but I’d love to hear from you if you’ve already tried PiYo.
