Christmas is the most magical time of the year, but it can also be the most stressful. So while you’re rushing around, it’s really important to take time out and relax.
And one of the best ways to relax is curling up under a blanket or duvet with a good novel. There are plenty of Christmas-themed novels around which are a great way to forget about your to-do list for a while.
So I’ve picked out a few novels which all have a lovely Christmassy feel to them, with a sprinkling of snow, a generous helping of romance and, of course, a happy ending!
Some of them are newly published this year and others are old favourites. Why not download one of these books to your Kindle, make yourself a hot chocolate and cosy up this Christmas?

I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day
A story of knowing when to hold on and when to let go, of pushing limits and acceptance, of friendship, love, laughter, mince pies and the magic of Christmas.
Gorgeous, warm and full of heartfelt emotion, I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day is the perfect read this winter!
Milly Johnson’s tale of Christmas in a snow-bound village inn is packed full of romance, friendship and a touch of magic. Six weary travellers find themselves stranded over Christmas with no power or phone signal but plenty of good food, drink and fun.
It’s my favourite Christmas novel of 2021 – check out my full review to find out why!

A Perfect Cornish Christmas
After last Christmas revealed a shocking family secret, Scarlett’s hardly feeling merry and bright. All she wants this Christmas is to know who her real father is. So Scarlett heads to the little Cornish town of Porthmellow, where she believes the truth of her birth is hidden.
Everything will come to a head at Porthmellow’s Christmas Festival … But can Scarlett have the perfect Christmas this year, or are there more surprises on the way?
If you love the idea of disappearing down to Cornwall at Christmas, then you’ll love this novel by Phillipa Ashley. There are twists and turns throughout the story, and to be honest, I didn’t really know how it would end up!

It was supposed to be Christy Sullivan’s perfect Christmas escape – a dream trip to Lapland with her family and best friend, Alix. But facing a make-or-break marriage crisis, Christy desperately needs time alone with her husband, Seb. There’s nothing Alix won’t do for Christy, but Christy’s plan to save Christmas is testing their friendship.
As long-held secrets unravel, and unexpected romance shines under the Northern Lights, can Christy and Alix find the courage to fight for the relationships they really want? And could this Christmas escape save the precious gift of each other’s friendship?
Sarah Morgan’s new Christmas novel is a fabulously festive novel set against the snowy landscapes of England and Lapland. The complex characters will really draw you in, and the beautiful settings make this a perfect Christmas read.

Christmas at the Beach Cafe
After a hectic summer running her beach cafe in Cornwall, Evie Flynn is looking forward to her first Christmas with new boyfriend Ed – she’s determined that it’s going to be the most perfectly romantic one ever. Cosy nights in front of the fire, spicy mulled wine, mince pies . . . what’s not to love?
But the peace is shattered when Ed’s ex suddenly gets in touch again, and then some unexpected guests arrive: Ed’s surly brother Jake and Evie’s heartbroken best friend Amber. Will any of her festive wishes come true . . . or is this Christmas just a recipe for disaster?
Lucy Diamond is one of my all time favourite romantic fiction authors. If you’ve read her summer novel The Beach Cafe, you’ll know that it follows Evie Flynn as she runs away to Cornwall to deal with her late aunt’s beach cafe.
Christmas at the Beach Cafe follows on from The Beach Cafe, and is a 100 page novella in Kindle format. It’s a perfect quick read if you get a quiet afternoon over the festive period.

The Christmas Bookshop
Carmen has always worked in her local department store. So, when the gorgeous old building closes its doors for good, she is more than a little lost. When her sister, Sofia, mentions an opportunity in Edinburgh – a cute little bookshop, the spare room in her house – Carmen is reluctant, she was never very good at accepting help.
What Sofia didn’t say is that the shop is on its last legs and that if Carmen can’t help turn things around before Christmas, the owner will be forced to sell. Privately, Sofia is sure it will take more than a miracle to save the store, but maybe this Christmas, Carmen might surprise them all…
Edinburgh is beautiful at any time of year and in The Christmas Bookshop, the snowy city provides a perfect backdrop for this uplifting tale of romance and new beginnings.
I loved the characters in this book, even the ones that I loved to hate. It’s such a Christmassy read with a fabulous will-they-won’t-they plot – find out more in my full review.

Christmas at the Falling-Down Guesthouse
When her beloved Aunt Kate ends up in hospital just before Christmas, Lottie and her seven-year-old daughter rush to rural Wales to take over her B&B. A picky hotel reviewer and his mad family are coming to stay, and without the rating only he can give them, Aunt Kate will lose her livelihood.
How will she manage to turn the falling-down guesthouse into the luxurious wonderland the reviewer expects? And could the mysterious taxi driver, Danny, who agrees to help her, turn out to be the real gift this season?
I love the novels that Michele Gorman writes under the pen name Lilly Bartlett. So I was thrilled when she released a Christmas book.
Christmas at the Falling- Down Guesthouse is a witty and fun novel about a single mum’s rush to get her Aunt’s B&B ready for a picky reviewer. Of course, she only has days to transform the house from top to bottom. But of course, there’s a handsome neighbour right on hand to help out.
This novella is available in paperback and Kindle formats – why not treat yourself?
