Get a brighter start to the week with Motivation Monday! This week’s quote comes from John F Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.
Kennedy was talking about economic policy, but I reckon this quote applies to everyday life as well.
When things are going well, the temptation is to sit back and relax, enjoy the sunshine while you can. But it’s a better idea to use the good times as an opportunity to prepare for when the rains come again. You don’t want to be fixing holes in the roof when the rain is pouring through them after all!
For instance, I’m trying to get myself into the habit of preparing some of my blog posts ahead of time. Because I know that every so often, life gets a bit hectic and I find myself struggling to keep on top of everything. Or I get the and don’t feel like writing. If I can prepare a few posts ahead of time (when the sun is shining…), then that should make the rainier days easier to handle.
So if the sun is shining on you at the moment, then of course you need to take time to sit and relax in it. But make sure you’re checking for how you can prepare for the rainy season as well.
