These round ups include brand new posts as well as older material that I’ve only just discovered. And they can be on any subject that I’ve found interesting, from blogging to beauty, travel to food.
When I am putting these lists together each week, I try to make sure that there is a balanced mix of posts. I might include a post or two from some very well known bloggers, but I’ll also mention some smaller blogs that you might not have heard of. Sometimes I see a whole host of delicious recipes over the course of 7 days, but I try to narrow my selection down to just 2 or 3. This week seems to have been even more mixed than usual, so I hope you enjoy the posts that I’ve picked out.
This week’s selection includes spring cleaning tips for bloggers, a fab idea for wedding favours, and some rich, fudgy blondie bars.
I’m starting off this week’s selection with a post by Rachael Lucas (@) about
5 Things you’ll Discover on a Writing Retreat. (broken link, sorry!). I love Rachael’s books (such as Coming Up Roses), and I really like how her blog and social media posts give an insight into her writing process.
Next up is a post by Harriet at Toby and Roo (@) with some great ideas for Charitable Wedding Favours. Back in 2001 when I got married, we had little boxes filled with After Eights for our wedding favours, and I remember that a lot of people were going with lottery scratchcards or tickets. These ideas are a great way to keep the wedding favour tradition going while supporting a good cause as well.
Now, I have to admit that I have never considered trying a vegan lifestyle. But I know that it’s getting more popular these days, and if you are thinking of going vegan then this post from The Veganista Foodie (@) will be useful. Guest poster Ruby from Justwonderstyle (@) has written 4 Tips to Make Going Vegan Easy, and it’s a post that is full of useful advice.
A sweet treat next from Living The Gourmet (@). It’s a really delicious recipe for Fudge Blondie Bars AKA Fabulous Blondies, which I definitely want to try baking. They look and sound just as fabulous as the name suggests, I can’t wait to try them!
I’ve picked out a couple of useful posts for bloggers as well this week. The first is a post by Leanne at Leanne Marie (@) about Spring Cleaning You can do as a Blogger. It’s full of simple but important housekeeping tasks that it’s worth doing every so often if you are running your own blog.
If you’ve ever thought you might be in need of a digital detox, then you’ll love this next post from Zena at Zena’s Suitcase (@). In Why Creative People need a Digital Detox Holiday, Zena explains why a digital detox is especially important to anyone who has a creative job. She also gives some really useful tips about how to go about implementing a 7 day digital detox. I worked straight through my summer holiday last year, but I’m bookmarking this post for when I go away this summer!
Finally for this week, I think everyone goes through times in their lives when they realise they have got into a bit of a rut, hit a plateau. If that sounds like you, then take a look at Lost Your Mojo? You Need a Plan by Ali at Mum in a Nutshell (@). It helps to know that other people go through those feelings as well, and by making a plan you can start to move forward again!
