7 Days, 7 Posts is my weekly round up of some of the posts that I have enjoyed reading over the last week. They might be brand new posts, or older material that I’ve only just discovered. And they can be on any subject that I’ve found interesting, from blogging to beauty, travel to food.
Another month is over, and the year seems to be flying by even quicker than usual. I’ve been looking forward to May’s Bank Holiday weekends – life seems so hectic that catching up and taking a bit of a breather is a very attractive proposition. This weekend’s holiday also breaks up what feels like a very long half term, so the boys are looking forward to taking Monday off as well.
This week’s collection of blog posts contains a real mix of subjects, including a new name for an old favourite blog, an inspiring photography linky and an indulgent chocolate cake.
I’m still working on decluttering my home. Even though I have read The Life-changing Magic of Tidying, doing it all in one fell swoop just seems too drastic. So this post from Sarah at Life in a Breakdown (@) about 5 Storage Solutions was very timely – she’s picked out some ideas to suit all budgets.
Next up is a post by Ali at We Made This Life (@) about A New Chapter in her blogging life. Ali has recently rebranded her blog from its previous name of Cookies and Cwtches. The decision to rebrand a blog or business is never an easy one, and the reasons behind the change and her blog’s new name make for interesting reading.
On to food next, with a very Indulgent Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake posted over at Munchies and Munchkins (@). I absolutely love salted caramel and chocolate together, so this looks like my idea of a perfect Bank Holiday cake!
I’ve been looking around for some new food bloggers to share in an upcoming post, and on my journeys I came across this next post. It’s a delicious-looking recipe for Asian Pork Meatballs with Ginger Honey Sauce, posted by Colleen at Souffle Bombay (@). I absolutely love her website, it’s well worth taking a look around!
I’m a little bit older than thirty (ahem!) but I distinctly remember the mixed feelings that I had when I finally hit the big three-oh. I read this post about Why It Rocks To Be Thirty by Sheri at A Busy Bee’s Life (@) and really loved her positive, upbeat attitude. And by the way, if you think 30 rocks, 40 is even better!
The next post will be familiar to you if you have seen My Sunday Photo posts here on SallyAkins.com. I always link up my weekly photo to the My Sunday Photo linky run by Darren at Photalife (@). I thought I’d mention it on here as well in case you haven’t seen it – it’s a great place to share your favourite photo and view a whole bunch of fab pictures as well.
The final post in today’s selection is a thought-provoking piece by Harriet at Toby and Roo (@) about Transgender Discrimination. This is a blunt post that pulls no punches, but it addresses an issue that really needs to be discussed more.
That’s all for this week. I’m looking forward to the possibility of a Bank Holiday lie-in tomorrow, although if Charlie has anything to do with it I’ll still be out of the house bright and early! If you have a day off tomorrow, I hope you enjoy the break.
