Yesterday I picked out my own favourite posts of the year. Now it’s time to look at which were your favourites, in my Top Ten Posts of the Year.
I published a total of 373 posts in 2016, which is the first time I’ve managed to post more than an average of 1 post per day. That’s not bad, considering that I had very light months in March and April. Those 373 posts covered beauty and skincare, recipes, book reviews as well as travel and other lifestyle subjects.
So I’ve been looking through my webstats to find out which posts were read by the most people. As with last year’s Top Ten, I’ve excluded any competitions and giveaways from this list. And of course, in time-honoured fashion I’ll be announcing the posts in reverse order starting with Number 10…
10 – Eloquence Beauty Skincare Review
I posted this review of the Eloquence Beauty range in early January 2016. Although the products didn’t suit my skin, I was very impressed by the products, the packaging and the company’s ethos.
9 – How to Cook the Christmas Ham?
This post first appeared on the blog back in December 2015 and it’s been popular ever since. A bit like this recipe for my Best Ever Christmas Ham, which I cooked again this year!
8 – Novello Lounge: Opening Night at Southwater
Novello Lounge bar and restaurant opened at Southwater in Telford back in September. Mark and I attended the opening night party, and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. And plenty of people enjoyed my write-up, sending it straight up into my Top Ten posts.
7 – Avene PhysioLift: Ageing Skin is not a Flaw
Skincare features in five out of my Top Ten posts, and this post first appeared in January 2016. In it, I discuss the changing needs of ageing skin, and the idea that looking good as we get older is not the same as looking young.
6 – LightStim for Wrinkles: My First Impressions
Another skincare post appears at Number 6, this time it’s a First Impressions review of the LightStim skincare device.
5 – 8 Ways to use Coconut Oil
4 – Rimmel London Super Curler – a mascara that’s hard to beat
I reviewed Supercurler in October 2015. It was my favourite mascara last year, and it’s still one that I reach for most often. And the review still gets plenty of visitors, putting it right up in my top 5 posts for the year.
3 – HoMedics NEWA: A Full Review
I loved reviewing the HoMedics NEWA skincare device, and I’m going to be giving my skin a refresher course with it very soon. This review from October 2015 is one of my most popular posts ever.
2 – Avene PhysioLift Skincare Review
My most popular skincare review of the year was this one from February. It was the first time I’d worked with Avene, and I highly rated this range.
And the most popular post from 2016 was…
1 – Is this Foundation an Airbrush in a bottle?
Yes, this review of No7’s Airbrush Away foundation is my most popular post from 2016. It first appeared on the blog in September 2015 and still received a steady stream of visitors each month!
I’ve found it really interesting to see which posts were most popular last year. It certainly gives me some food for thoughts as I make plans for the next twelve months.
I can’t wait to see what my Top Ten Posts of 2017 looks like next January!
